How do I find my current pension contract number?
If you’ve started work with an employer that uses our Scheme as its workplace pension, you’ll get an email or letter explaining how to set up your online member account. This will have your NOW: Pensions contract ID, which is usually four letters plus 12 digits (for example, NPLT 0000-0000-0000).
Can I take money out of my now pension?
You can take some or all your pension savings with us as cash. You can either take cash in chunks, or take all your pension savings at once. You have complete freedom to use the cash in any way you want. The only thing you can’t do is put it back into a pension.
Can I find old pensions with my national insurance number?
There are usually two ways you can find lost pensions using your NI number. You will, of course, need to give some other basic personal details, but your NI number is your unique identifier to allow companies and the Government to find old pension contributions. It can be found on your current or previous payslips.
How much is the state pension?
The full new State Pension is £179.60 per week. The actual amount you get depends on your National Insurance record. The only reasons the amount can be higher are if: you have over a certain amount of Additional State Pension.
Can I cancel my pension and get the money back?
You can leave (called ‘opting out’) if you want to. If you opt out within a month of your employer adding you to the scheme, you’ll get back any money you’ve already paid in. You may not be able to get your payments refunded if you opt out later – they’ll usually stay in your pension until you retire.
